ACTIVE SHOOTER
A WINDOW INTO THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO BECOME ACTIVE SHOOTERS
Active Shooter is an interactive virtual reality experience offering windows into the lives of individuals who went on to become active shooters. It was created in collaboration with Shenandoah University’s SCiL Lab and Isomer Media.
As part of a new fictional “police education program”, the viewer is asked by the police chief to enter small moments in an active shooter’s life. The goal is to answer the question “What makes an active shooter?” Careful research into notable events and 1-on-1 interviews with a former active shooter helped the team create each episode.
In addition, the user can choose between experiencing each video as-is or listen to feedback from professional sources. These include a police chief, a therapist, or a school principal – all trained in active shooter response.
