MISSION 828

CLIMB THE BURJ KHALIFA

Mission 828 is a 6 pod VR experience available at the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. When an impending cyber attack looms, you are drafted as a secret agent to scale the Burj Khalifa and transmit a code to an overhead satellite and then parachute down to safety.

Working with Digicomm in Dubai, VArtisans was involved in initial creative and handled 360 drone work and hi-res 50 MP image captures to hand off to London’s Inition studio for the Unity based experience.

In addition to the drone work, we sent a team to the very top of the spire … 828 meters (2,700+ feet) in the air. Strapped into harness and hardhats, this entailed a full day’s journey. Starting before the sun rose, we began the two hour ascent by 1) riding up to the 140th floor, 2) riding a small service elevator to the 160th floor and then the long and grueling task of 3) climbing 10 stories of “vertical stairs” and then 10 stories of ladders! We spent over an hour at the top collecting video, hi-res photos and 360 imagery before beginning the long and just as tiring descent. It was an epic shoot.
